Lion Bob was born in San Jose, California, in 1931.  He attended schools in San Jose and graduated from San Jose State University with a B.S. in Biological Science.  He later received a M.S. in Biological Science from Oklahoma State University.

Bob was married to his wife, Susan, for 39 years.  After her death in 1994, he married his current wife, Marian, in 1997.  They had met each other in kindergarten.  Between Marian and Bob they have five children, fourteen grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.

Bob has worked as a farm laborer, a lab technician in the food industry, a surgical nurse in the U.S. Army, a Biology Teacher, and a High School Principal.  He retired as Director of Personnel of a school district.

The West San Jose Lions Club of Campbell has kept Bob very involved.  He has held numerous positions in the club and is a Past District Governor of Lions Club International.  He has participated in more than ten Lions In Sight Clinic Trips to Mexico.  As Spanish was a subject in high school, he has been an interpreter on several occasions.

Hobbies include gardening, numismatics, and travel.
