Dr. Bill Iannaccone


Dr. Bill Iannaccone, of Walnut Creek, California, USA, served a two-year term as a Director of the International Association of Lions Clubs following his election at the association's 75th International convention, held in Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA, July 6 - 9, 1993.  Past Director "Dr. Bill" practices chiropractic in Walnut Creek, California.


A Lion since 1976, Past Director "Dr. Bill" is a member of the Walnut Creek Host Lions Club.  He has held many positions within the association, including Club President twice (Pleasant Hill and Walnut Creek Host), Zone Chairman, Cabinet Secretary and District Governor (4-C3, 1985 - 1986).  He has also served as a presenter at two USA/Canada Lions Leadership Forums and was a group leader at the District Governor-Elect School.

Past Director Iannaccone is a very active locally, having served as President of the Lions Wilderness Camp for deaf children, President of the Lions In Sight Eyeglass Recycling Center, Trustee and President of the Lions Eye Foundation of California/Nevada and Editor of the Lions Eye Foundation Periodical, "The Retina."  He recently finished a two-year term as the President of the Walnut Festival Association and serves as Chief Operations Officer of Lions In Sight.

Past Director "Dr. Bill" has received numerous awards in recognition of his service to the Association, including the 100% District Governor Award with the highest net increase in membership (+176 net new members) in the world outside of the Asian countries.

A Senior Master Key Award, Five International President's Certificates of Appreciation, several Extension Awards, Five International President's Awards and the Ambassador of Goodwill Award, the highest award the Association grants to its members.  He is a Life Member of Lions Clubs International, a Life Member and Helen Keller Fellow of the Lions Eye Foundation.  A Life Member and recipient of the Alexander Graham Bell Award of the Ear of the Lions Foundation.  He is a Marilyn Green Life Member and Wayne Cannon Fellow of Lions In Sight, as well as a Bud Jensen Fellow.  He is an Abdul Award recipient and recently was presented a Life Membership for Canine Companions for Independence.  He is also a Seven Diamond Progressive Melvin Jones Fellow.  He currently is serving as Chief Operations Officer for Lions In Sight, a position he has held since 1999.

Past Director "Dr. Bill" and his wife, Cindy, have been proud to represent District 4-C3 and MD-4 in their world-wide travels on behalf of Lionism.
