Lions In Sight of California and Nevada

Khush Bodhan
Khush was born and brought up in India to parents who spent innumerable hours doing social work and helping those that were not as fortunate as them.  Mother Teresa was a frequent visitor at his home in Jamshedpur. After getting a Bachelors Degree in Accounting and Auditing from the University of Mumbai he went to London, England and worked for the CPA firm of Deloitte and Touche. He met his wife Nancy ( a native of San Leandro, California ) in London and after getting married in 1973 decided to emigrate to the United States and live in the Bay Area. After completing his tenure he was made a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales. After emigrating, he continued working for Deloitte and Touche in the San Francisco office.

In 1981 he became a Certified Public Accountant for the State of California and in 1984 earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Real Estate and Financial Planning from Golden Gate University in San Francisco (wearing out library benches was a mission he almost completed). In 1990 he went out on his own and started the accounting firm of ASK Accountax Consultants Inc that currently serves about 400 tax and accounting clients. In 2004 Khush became a real estate broker affiliated with Better Homes Realty. His real estate firm ASK Real Estate Inc specializes in tax free 1031 exchanges.

After some prodding from his tax client Lion Don Kiang, Khush joined the Amador Valley Lions Club in 2004 . After learning that the Blind Center in Oakland was going to close Khush volunteered to help rescue it from closure. He along with Lion Michael Cohen and Mr. Dave Gregerson managed the Blind Center after receiving ample support from Lions Ed Cossart, Lion Lyle Morris and several others. For his efforts in essentially reducing the deficit from approximately $200,000 to $6,000 within a year and running the Center, he was awarded the Melvin Jones Award in 2005.

After serving on a Mission to Vera Cruz with Lions In Sight Khush decided to spend his energies with Lions In Sight and is currently a Director for Lions In Sight of California and Nevada.

His two children Shanta (26) and Seth (18) are ardent supporters of the Lions and in fact Seth received certificates from both the Blind Center and the Amador Valley Club for contributing nearly 200 hours of his time to help the visually impaired.
